Works in reverse too: search for coordinates to see where they point.
Search for the address or place name, or simply click the spot on the map. A marker is placed and its coordinates appear in all three common formats, ready to copy to the clipboard with one click.
Paste the coordinates into the search box — for example 40.7128, -74.0060
— and the map jumps to that location. Decimal degrees work best for searching.
Decimal degrees (like 40.712800, -74.006000) is the format used by GPS devices, Google Maps, and most software. DMS (40°41'21"N 74°02'40"W) is traditional for navigation and legal descriptions. For UTM or MGRS, use our Coordinate Converter.
Coordinates are shown to six decimal places — about 10 cm of ground precision — on the WGS84 datum used by GPS. Zoom in before clicking for the most precise placement.
